History

Our animal rescue organisation, Central Coast Animal Care Facility (CCACF), was founded in July 2016 to run the Erina Pound on behalf of Central Coast Council. In our 7 ½ years there, we cared for all the strays collected by Council rangers, took in pets surrendered by their owners, ran community outreach programs, and found furever homes for all the little critters we could.

While we remain very connected to the Central Coast, our contract with Central Coast Council ended on 30 September 2021. But we weren’t idle for long…only 11 days later we were managing the Maitland Animal Management Facility!

So now we’re the Central Coast Animal Care Facility running the Maitland Animal Management Facility – and yes, that is a mouthful!

Partners

We couldn’t do what we do without the support of so many great organisations. We’d especially like to acknowledge:

  • Our veterinary clinic partners: Motto Farm Veterinary Hospital and Morpeth Veterinary Hospital. So many of our animals need medical attention and these wonderful clinics go the extra mile for us, whether providing extra guidance and care, discounts, or not shying away from the more difficult cases.
  • Doggy Daycare Farm Trips. This fantastic operation takes in some of our animals who need physical rehabilitation, such as after injuries, and opens its doors when we have dogs that badly need a break from the shelter environment.

We are grateful for any kind of support – please give us a call or email to explore how your organisation might support our mission of caring and rehoming abandoned animals.

Recruitment

Our staff work as animal attendants and/or in office administration. Keep an eye on our Facebook page where we’ll announce any available positions. You’re also welcome to send in a resume and introductory letter which we’ll keep on file.
